Here are some dreams we built beforehand
We had two major exterior jobs to do. For the smaller job we used another contractor. It took over a year to complete. We were not happy—I wish we had waited for Matt’s availability, as it would have been done better and much more quickly. We entrusted the larger second job to Matt: widening our long heated driveway (including boiler piping). It was completed swiftly within three weeks, and has worked perfectly ever since.

You’re thinking of a major investment. It’s only right that you want to learn more about us and our work. Here you’ll find a number of examples of previous houses we’ve built or renovated around Whistler. Obviously pictures can’t capture everything—but we hope they give you at least a taste of the pride and excellence we hammer into every timber.
If you’re like many of our customers, you’d probably also like to familiarize yourself with the process of building. We’re happy for you to have as much involvement in this process as you feel happy with—that’s just part of our ideal of making your dreams happen the way you want. Some of our customers love to drop in on the site regularly to see how things are going. Some like to leave everything in our hands—so that walking into the house for the first time is like opening a present at Christmas (the best present ever, we hope). Whatever kind of person you are, here’s an outline of where we really will need you to be involved:
- When you tell us your dream. It all starts with a meeting. We get together and talk about your vision…discuss the design…give you some ideas—and also talk about a ballpark budget and schedule.
- When we get it put on paper. We work with a handful of great architects. They’re are all outstanding—each with their own styles. Depending on the kind of house you want, we’ll help you find the right one to draft up plans for your dream.
- When we nail down a budget and schedule. With a design on paper, we’re all set to take the ballpark figures we talked about earlier and firm them up. And once this is all agreed, you’re off the hook—if you want to be (we’ll still send you regular updates though).
Once everything is settled, we’ll get a building permit and start excavation or demolition (depending on whether it’s a new project or not). Then we lay the foundation, raise the framing, put on the roof, and add windows & doors.
Once it’s all securely locked up we get the interior sorted with electrics, heating and insulation. Then we finish up the floors, cabinetry and fixtures. And finally we do the landscaping.
And once all that’s done, we hand you the keys, and the dream is yours!
This is exactly what I want—let’s talk about building my dream!
